Intoduction To Yarn Dyeing

In this small group class you will learn the basics of dyeing wool with acid dyes.  You will learn the theory behind the various techniques and with a hands-on approach you will dye two skeins of wool during this three hour class.

Gradient Dyeing Dip Dyeing Sweater Quantiy Dyeing Over Dyeing
Learn how to dye gradient color shift skeins of yarn.  Though time intensive this technique is incredibly satisfying and well worth the effort. Learn the dip dyeing technique to put multiple colors into one skein of yarn to creat bold or subtle stripes in your knitting.  This is a fast and fun way to learn how colors work together. In this class we will discuss benifits and drawbacks to dyeing in bulk and how to plan for an entire project.  Bring your own 100% wool of choice in nessessary quantity. If you, like us, have a skein or two under your bed that you just arent attracted to, why not consider over dyeing?  Come learn how to upcycle those lonely skeins and make them something you would love to work with!  Bring your own 100% animal fiber yarn in any light color.
